Place 5 incumbent Eileen Altmiller is winning her bid for another term on Buda City Council with a narrow lead over engineer Evan Ture, who has received 44 percent of the tallies to Altmiller's 56 percent, according to early voting results.
Ture has received 457 total votes, which falls shy of Altmiller's total of 580.
"I wish it were a little healthier, but I'm optimistic," Altmiller said. "I hope my lead holds; we'll see."
Altmiller, who was elected in 2011, said Election Day saw plenty of Buda residents turn out to the polls, so she is awaiting the final results. About 21 percent of the registered voters in Buda had filled out ballots when the early results came in, according to the Hays County Elections Administrator website.
Despite the early deficit, Ture said he remained hopeful.
"We have a lot of ground to make up," Ture said. "We'll see. I'm hoping still and just looking forward to being around friends and family tonight."
Place 6 incumbent Bobby Lane, who has served on City Council since 2000, is in a tight race with restaurateur Greg Henry. Lane secured about 52.6 percent to Henry's 48.4 percent of the votes.
Lane has received 524 total votes, and Henry has received 472 tallies.
"It's close; we'll see what happens," Henry said.
