City Council decided Sept. 2 to cancel the city's Nov. 4 election and declare the incumbents the winners since only incumbents filed to run for office.
The action saved the city $700, according to city documents.
The terms of Mayor Rosa Cardona, Councilman Walter Jenkins and Councilwoman Mickie Powers are now scheduled to end in November 2016.
The city will still hold its meet the candidates night at 7 p.m. Oct. 14.
