North Kimball Avenue



Pavecon Constructors is in charge of work to widen North Kimball Avenue fromSH 114 to Dove Road from two lanes to four lanes with divided center landscaped medians and 6-foot-wide sidewalks on both sides of the street.

Lavaca Trail



A full-depth reclamation project is near completion on Lavaca Trail. The project includes the removal of the existing asphalt paving, subgrade stabilization and new asphalt pavement. The trail was widened to approximately 22 feet, where feasible.

Quiet Zone construction



Construction began at the John McCain Road railroad crossing to establish a quiet zone in August. Work was set to begin Sept. 15 at the Bransford Road crossing and is expected to take about three weeks, at which time the contractor will move to the Pleasant Run Road crossing. Bransford and Pleasant Run will each be closed for approximately 30 days for track and roadway reconstruction. Message boards of each closing will notify motorists in advance.

South Village Center Drive Construction



As part of the Kimball Oaks retail development in Southlake, developer SPC Kimball Oaks LLC, constructed South Village Center Drive. With the location of the road near Dawson Middle School, it allows the developer to work with Carroll ISD to use the road to help accommodate school traffic.

Federal Way/North Carroll Avenue



Construction of a right turn lane from Federal Way onto northbound North Carroll Avenue in Southlake is expected to be completed by the end of September. Contractors will also construct an 8-foot-wide sidewalk along Federal Way. This project is part of the Town Square Improvements project, which addresses issues related to traffic congestion and access into and out of Town Square.

Southlake Boulevard



Southlake Boulevard has undergone a series of improvements including illuminated street name signs at 14 major intersections along the boulevard to improve visibility at night and overall safety. Contractor Durable Specialties also installed battery backup traffic signals to be used in case of a power outage. This project includes the intersections of Southlake Boulevard at SH114, Commerce Street, Nolen Drive, Kimball Avenue, Village Center Drive, Carroll Avenue, Byron Nelson Parkway, White Chapel Boulevard, Shady Oaks Drive, Waterford Drive/Southridge Lakes Parkway, Peytonville Avenue, Randol Mill Avenue/Davis Boulevard, Pearson Lane and Watermere Drive.
