The Veterans Memorial at Frisco Commons Park will be receiving repairs and an expansion.
The $287,000 project was approved by the Frisco City Council at its June 17 meeting. The project is expected to be complete by Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
The Walk of Honor will provide a walkway around the memorial, which will include design pieces and additional landscaping. "Campaign plaques" will educate and commemorate major U.S. military battles.
The Walk of Honor will also serve as a fundraiser activity. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8273 will sell bricks to memorialize those who have served.
Repairs to damage done by skateboarders are also planned, and skate-proof design elements will be added to the memorial.
