One portion of Hwy. 290 in Cypress will be shut down over the weekend of June 13–16 as construction crews begin demolishing the bridge at Barker Cypress and Hwy. 290.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes on Hwy. 290 at Barker Cypress Road will be closed from 8:30 p.m. June 13 to 5 a.m. June 16. The northbound and southbound lanes on Barker Cypress over Hwy. 290 will also be closed for the same amount of time as construction crews plan to demolish half of the Barker Cypress bridge.
Drivers will be forced to detour to the frontage road at the Barker Cypress exit and can re-enter at the next entrance ramp past Barker Cypress.
Farther east, there will be another major closure on Hwy. 290 from Pinemont to W. 43rd Street. Both the eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. June 13 through 5 a.m. June 16.
