Cart switch process continues through July

The process of switching to a new trash and recycling collection provider in Frisco has begun.

The new provider, Progressive Waste Solutions, began this month to switch previous recycling and trash carts for new carts. That process will continue on a rotating schedule through July.

Customers can check the Environmental Services Division page on the city website, www.friscotexas.gov, for a map of expected cart change-out dates in each section of the city.

PWS will officially take over from Community Waste Disposal as the new provider beginning Aug. 1.

Environmental Services Division officials are urging residents to put all carts out on every service day in June and July to make sure they are swapped for the new carts.

For more information, contact the ESD at 972-292-5900 or email [email protected].

Carts will only be replaced if they are at the curb, as collection workers cannot walk up private property such as driveways to retrieve them.

The replacement carts will be the same size but the trash carts will be black instead of gray. Recycling carts will stay blue. No disruption or change in service is expected.
