California-based grocer Trader Joe's announced that it will open its second Austin location June 20 near the Arboretum.

The 13,000-square-foot store will open in the former Saks Fifth Avenue spot at 9722 Great Hills Trail. The new location will feature the grocer's traditional dcor of cedar-covered walls and Hawaiian motifs as well as art that celebrates area neighborhoods, spokeswoman Alison Mochizuki said.

Trader Joe's is known for selection of domestic and imported foods and beverages, including artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrees, juice, vitamins and beer and wine. It also sells items under its own private label such as salsas and wine.

The Rollingwood location open on Bee Caves Road on Sept. 20, and the company is planning a third location in the Seaholm Power Plan development off Cesar Chavez Street.

Area residents can expect to receive the Trader Joe's Fearless Flyer in their mailboxes once the store opens, and it will include descriptions of the store's products. For more information, visit www.traderjoes.com.
