Local Asian food chain Mama Fu's opened an Arboretum-area location April 14 that focuses on its takeout, delivery and catering services.



Randy Murphy, president, CEO and co-founder of Austin-based Mama Fu's, said the new location at 10710 Research Blvd., Ste. 328, near Jollyville Road and Braker Lane, will be the prototype.



"There are not many options for quick and healthy food for people out there," Murphy said. 'We believe we will satisfy that high-quality food you want quickly that's not fast food."



Through its mobile app and online ordering, Murphy said many customers choose takeout or delivery instead of dine-in. This is why the restaurant chain opted to open a smaller location in the Arboretum area, he said.



"It's a first step for our brand here in Austin," Murphy said. " We've seen over the years that nearly half of our customers don't sit and eat."



Mama Fu's serves Pan Asian cuisine using high quality and fresh cooked ingredients, Murphy said. The restaurant has six locations in Austin and 18 total. Murphy said the chain is looking to further expand in the Westlake, Lakeway or Round Rock areas. 512-637 6780. www.mamafus.com
