The city of Frisco's annual community cleanup and Earth Day celebration takes place April 26.

The "Clean It and Green It" cleanup event will take place from 9–10:30 a.m. and participants can meet in in the IKEA parking lot, 7171 IKEA Drive, at 9 a.m. to receive cleanup supplies, T-shirts and a cleanup location assignment.

Pre-registered volunteers (the deadline to pre-register was April 11) can begin cleanup in their pre-assigned locations at 9 a.m.

Then, from 11 a.m.–noon, Frisco's Earth Day Celebration takes place at IKEA. Volunteers receive a free lunch and other entertainment includes bounce houses, face painting and a meet-and-greet with Super Rufus the Recycling Dog.

All present volunteers have a chance to win a raffle that begins at 11:30 a.m.

For more information, visit www.friscotexas.gov or email [email protected].

In conjunction with the community cleanup, the Chunk Your Junk event also takes place from 8 a.m.–noon on April 26 at IKEA.

Any Frisco resident with a utility billing account can donate, recycle or throw away common household items. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines.

Visit the city's public works page on the city website for information about acceptable items.

While the city's Environmental Collection Center at 6616 Walnut St. will be closed on April 26 for the event, it is open 2–6 p.m. every Wednesday and 8 a.m.–1 p.m. every Saturday.
