Colleyville residents will be able to dispose of trash not typically accepted in regular trash collection in the annual Spring Clean Sweep on April 5 from 9–11 a.m. at Colleyville Heritage High School, 5401 Heritage Ave.

The one-stop, drop-off event is free and any Colleyville resident can participate but must show proof of residency. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants can bring Crud Cruiser hazardous waste, electronics and bulk trash to the event, which will continue until all containers are filled. The first 50 vehicles are guaranteed Crud Cruiser access, according to a city press release of the event.

Keep Colleyville Beautiful is partnering with the city this year and will provide a free tire disposal station. KCB volunteers will transport the tires to Discount Tire for an environmentally safe disposal.

Throughout the collection, residents are asked to stay in their cars while Colleyville personnel disposes of the items. Accepted hazardous waste materials include, but are not limited to, acids, batteries, pesticides and paints.

For electronic disposal, anything that plugs in or has a battery is accepted. There will also be a document-shredding service available.

Residents can also visit the Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center to drop off hazardous waste year-round without any additional charge.
