The cities of Cedar Park and Leander delayed operations and office openings Jan. 24 due to icy conditions throughout the Central Texas region.

Overnight a mix of sleet and snow blanketed much of the Austin area. Slick roads and overpasses led to more than 16 weather-related car accidents in Leander between 5 p.m. Jan. 23 and 9 a.m. Jan. 24, according to the Leander Police Department.

Cedar Park, Leander and other government agencies updated residents via Twitter, email and social networks about the delays and closings.

City of Cedar Park

City offices and the recreation center are open.

Trash and recycling were are moved to Jan. 25.

The library opens at 11 a.m.

City of Leander

City offices open at 10 a.m.

Trash and recycling is delayed until at least 10 a.m. If conditions are slow to improve, pickups will be Jan. 25.

Williamson County - closed

Capital Metro

Capital Metro is operating on its Saturday service schedule, which means there is no bus service to Leander on Friday morning.

Leander ISD - closed

Extracurricular activities are also canceled.
