FC Dallas Stadium representatives on Sept. 10 announced a long-term agreement with Toyota to rename FC Dallas Stadium as Toyota Stadium and the surrounding soccer fields Toyota Soccer Center.

Dan Hunt, vice president of Hunt Sports Group, said in a statement Tuesday was a "monumental day for our organization."

"My entire family and I are so excited to be partnered with Toyota," Hunt said. "I wish my father [Lamar Hunt] was alive today to see Toyota join FC Dallas in helping soccer grow across the Metroplex and Texas. This stadium complex was one of his favorite projects and will always be extra special to me as the last project I got to do with him before he passed. I know having such a wonderful partner as Toyota step up and put their name on it would make him proud."

The stadium was named Pizza Hut Park when it first opened in August 2005, but changed to FC Dallas Stadium when the naming rights expired in 2012.

The newly named stadium and 145-acre complex makes Toyota the exclusive automotive partner of FC Dallas, FC Dallas Youth, North Texas State Soccer Association, the annual King TUT youth tournament and the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup.

The United State Youth Soccer Association is headquartered at the complex. The association is the largest member of the United States Soccer Federation, which is the governing body for soccer in the U.S.

The $105 million public/private complex is owned by the city of Frisco in partnership with the Hunt Sports Group, Frisco ISD and Collin County.
