The owners behind North Austin establishments The Hideout Pub, The Pour House Pub and Barfly's are planning a new establishment called Pour House (Pints & Pies) in the former Jollyville Bar & Grill spot.
Co-owner Marcos Canchola said the new venue will open in September. He and co-owner Brian Hyde completely renovated the location, including the bar area and parking lot.
"When [customers] walk in, it will look nothing like what was there before," Canchola said.
Besides featuring a tap wall, Pour House will serve a variety of pizzas and hot sandwiches. Pour House will be located at 11835 Jollyville Road between Duval Road and Oak Knoll Drive.
This will be the seventh venue the duo own. They also own MugShots Bar on East Seventh Street, Violet Crown Social Club on East Sixth Street and Bender Bar and Grill in South Austin.
Jollyville Bar & Grill had gone through quite a few changes in its last couple of years before finally shuttering. In November 2011, the name changed to Austin Diner at Jollyville Bar & Grill to highlight a partnership between the bar and Austin Diner, which also had a restaurant on Burnet Road. Both closed in 2012.
