City Council approved amendments to the city's rules for the off-leash dog park in the animal ordinance at its May 28 meeting.
The changes exclude aggressive dogs, which are defined in the ordinance as a dog with two or more documented aggressive incidents in the off-leash area, from the dog park. Aggressive incidents are "displays of menacing or threatening behavior including but not limited to a bite causing a wound, pierce or cut of a person or another dog," according to the ordinance.
The revisions were made to clarify the park's rules and provide enforcement options for dog owners violating the aggressive dog restrictions.
