The City of Georgetown is hosting a public meeting March 6 at 6:30 p.m. to get public input on the proposed extension of Rivery Boulevard to Northwest Boulevard.
The meeting is scheduled to be held in the Georgetown ISD Administration Annex training room in the former McCoy Elementary School library, located at 1313 Williams Drive.
The Rivery Boulevard extension north of Williams Drive was included in the Williams Drive Gateway Redevelopment Master Plan, which was completed in 2006, according to a city news release. The plan calls for a north-south collector road.
According to the news release, the possibility of using the existing intersection and traffic signal at Rivery Boulevard and Williams Drive as the southern entry point to the Gateway would provide for controlled access from Williams Drive.
The public meeting is intended to help determine a preferred alternative for the road from Williams Drive to Fontana Drive, formerly Washam Drive, at Northwest Boulevard. City staff and Kasberg, Patrick & Associates engineering staff will present alternatives and answer questions.
Parking for the meeting is available behind the GISD Administration Annex buildings. Most parking spaces in front of the building are reserved for school buses, and vehicles parking in spaces reserved for buses may be subject to towing.
