Teresa Moss, former director of the Oscar E. Monnig Meteorite Gallery at Texas Christian University, is the new executive director of the Bob Jones Nature Center Organization.

"This is an idea person," Debra Edmondson, president of the Organization's board, said this week. "We believe she will move the center forward. It's kind of been, for a number of years, the best-kept secret in Southlake."

The nonprofit organization this fall began a contract with the City of Southlake to manage the day-to-day operations of the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve at 355 E. Bob Jones Road in Southlake. The 76-acre preserve provides access to more than 400 acres of Army Corps of Engineers land, a swath of the Cross Timbers ecosystem.

Besides exhibits at the center and trails for birdwatching and hiking, the center has classes for all ages, an after-school program and camps.

Moss has taught middle school and elementary school science, and was a member of the environmental science adjunct faculty at TCU.

She has an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington; and a master's of science in environmental science and a master's of education from TCU.
