Incumbent Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle will face Sean Hammerle this November, according to unofficial election results. Hammerle received 52 percent, or 4,130 of the votes in the Democratic election. His opponent Dave Wilson earned 48 percent and 3,800 votes.

"I am honored to be the Democratic nominee for November," Hammerle said. "This was a great race, and I am happy that the voters did put me forward so I can work on this for November."

Cagle received 72.9 percent, or 31,008 votes. His challenger Buck Buchanan received 19.98 percent, or 8,496 votes, while Robert M. Cadena earned 7.1 percent and 3,028 votes.

"I'm feeling delighted with the results, and I'm humbled at the hard work that everyone put into the election," Cagle said.

Voter turnout was more than 12 percent this year. There are approximately 1.9 million registered voters in Harris County.
