Council votes in favor of constructing new spraygrounds, upgrading lake parks this summer
Grapevine residents rated fishing piers, splash parks and additional picnic pavilions among their most needed recreational amenities in the city's 2010 Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment Study.
Residents will be granted their wish sometime this summer with the addition of a fishing pier on Lake Grapevine and two new splash parks or spraygrounds. A new low water boat ramp and picnic pavilion opened this month. The Grapevine City Council authorized allocating $2 million for more than a dozen projects from its community quality of life fund.
