Five acres of land is set to go up for auction in New Braunfels.

New Braunfels City Council approved a resolution Aug. 28 allowing for the sale of approximately 5.004 acres at 1493 Gruene Road within the William E. Field Subdivision.
The property was formerly home to the New Braunfels Utilities' Gruene Road wastewater treatment facility that was decommissioned and is no longer operational, according to agenda documents.
NBU has had operational control over the land since 1975 but, ultimately, it is city owned.
The property will be sold at an auction that is open to the public, and all proceeds of the sale will go to NBU.
