The race for New Braunfels City Council District 6 is going to a runoff.
What you need to know
Incumbent April Ryan and candidates Nikki Shaw and Steven Voges were vying for the seat. According to unofficial voting results from Comal County and Guadalupe County, Shaw leads with 304 votes, or 43.55% of the vote. Ryan follows Shaw with 238 votes, or 34.1% of the vote. A runoff election is held when no candidate receives a majority, or over 50% of the vote, according to the city's charter. Shaw and Ryan will be participating in the runoff election.
