Project: The project, which was first presented in 2024, would connect Intermodal Parkway to Old Denton Road. A new elevated bridge, 1.4 miles in length, would be constructed from the main lanes east of I-35W to Intermodal Parkway, with associated roadway on either side, for a total project of 2.4 miles.
Update: Public hearings for the project were held in person and virtually July 28 to gather public input. Schematic design and environmental work would start in the spring of 2027, according to a news release.

Ongoing projects
Project: Crews are converting Oklahoma Drive from asphalt to concrete from Pecan Street to Malone Street. Work also includes drainage, signage, lighting and landscaping improvements.
Update: Oklahoma Drive is open to traffic between Pecan Street and Beech Street as paving work moves to the segment between Beech Street and Malone Street.

3. Eldorado Parkway and Virginia Parkway rehabilitation
Project: Reconstruction of failing concrete panels and broken curbs will occur along Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, and Virginia Parkway between Stonebridge Drive and US 75.
Update: Work on Eldorado Parkway is complete. Work continues on Virginia Parkway between Lake Forest Drive and Hardin Boulevard. Additional improvements along Virginia Parkway between Hardin Boulevard and US 75 will be delayed until funding is available.

4. Hickory Creek Road widening Phase 3
Project: Crews will widen Hickory Creek Road in Denton from Riverpass Drive to FM 1830 (Country Club Road) and install a new bridge with four-lane divided roadway, sidewalk improvements and street lighting.
Update: Crews are currently in construction to install the new bridge.
- Timeline: spring 2023-early 2027
- Cost: $54 million
- Funding source: city of Denton
Project: King Road in Frisco is being updated to include two new lanes along the roadway from Rose Lane to Witt Road, bringing King Road to four lanes total.
Update: The project is under construction and is expected to be completed next year.

- Cost: $12.5 million
- Funding source: city of Frisco, external funding
