No single candidate managed to gain more than 50% of the vote in the May election for the McKinney City Council District 1 seat. The two highest vote-getters, Justin Beller and Stan Penn, collected 40.8% and 32.3% of the votes, respectively, and will head into a runoff election set for June 5.
Other candidates for this seat were Cris Trevino with 19.2% of the vote and Johnny Moore, who garnered 7.7% of the vote, with all precincts reporting.
