Looking for a family-friendly activity for the weekend? Here are some suggestions ranging from a fairy tale play to a dive-in movie night.

1. McKinney Repertory Theatre presents ‘Wooing Wed Widing Hood’

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, "Wooing Wed Widing Hood" is performed at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, located at 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. This performance is a fractured fairy tale about three princes searching for Little Red Riding Hood, defeating a dragon and waking Little Red to marry her. Performances are held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $6 for Young Actors Guild members, $8 for students and seniors, and $12 for adults. 2. Printmaking demonstration at the Cove

The North Texas Printmaking Guild showcases some of its print work and hosts a printmaking demonstration at the Cove, 402 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. The exhibition "Art, Ink, Repeat" is on display all weekend with an opening reception Friday from 6-9 p.m., open house Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and a printmaking demonstration Sunday from 2-5 p.m. More information about this free event can be found on the Cove’s website.

3. Dive-in movie night shows new ‘Beauty and the Beast’

The Craig Ranch Fitness & Spa, located at7910 Collin McKinney Parkway, McKinney, is hosting a family-friendly dive-in movie night Saturday from 8:30-11 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring pool toys, floaties and towels. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and snow cones are served at 7 p.m., but guests are asked to bring their own drinks. There is also a bounce house for children and an open volleyball court for pickup games. The event is free for members and members' guests. 4. Public hearing focuses on Assessment of Fair Housing

The city of McKinney and the McKinney Housing Authority are hosting a public hearing to examine housing challenges and challenges related to employment, accessibility to opportunities in McKinney and transportation. The hearing will be held at the MHA Merritt Community Center, located at 1200 N. Tennessee St., McKinney, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Holding a meeting about the Assessment of Fair Housing is a legal requirement from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the city and MHA in order to receive funding for federal housing and community development. A second public hearing will be held July 25 at 7 p.m. at Old Settler’s Recreation Center, located at 1201 E. Louisiana St., McKinney.
