The John Cooper School will mark its 30th year of operation in The Woodlands with a celebration later this month. The private school will hold an assembly and reception on April 18 to honor influential figures from its history ahead of the graduation of its 30th class this spring. The school grew from an initial enrollment of 175 students from pre-K through seventh grade to this year's record 1,242 students from pre-K through high school, and has graduated more than 1,800 attendees since its founding. The school first opened under educator John Cooper in the late 1980s and was built on land set aside by The Woodlands developer George Mitchell. www.johncooper.org
