Construction on the new A.P. George Livestock Pavilion at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds was completed in late September just in time for the county’s 81st annual fair and rodeo. The 85,000-square-foot facility will be the home of 500 livestock exhibitors during the fair, Sept. 29-Oct. 8. Fort Bend County Fair Association Board members, Fort Bend County Judge Robert Hebert and county commissioners held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the pavilion’s completion Sept. 21.

Construction took about one year, and the pavilion was built with previous county bond funds. The 81st Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo is the first event to be hosted in the new pavilion, with more events expected to take place in the future. 4310 TX-36, Rosenberg. 281-342-6171. www.fortbendcountyfair.com.
