With construction ramping up, an opening timeline for the Costco coming to a 18.7-acre site at Hwy. 290 and Cypress Mill Place Boulevard in Cypress has been announced. The store, located at 26960 Hempstead Road, will open sometime in July, according to Costco's website. Additional details about the store could not immediately be confirmed, but information from the Robinson Construction Co., which is constructing the warehouse building, suggests it will be about 157,000 square feet.

A land plan for the site was approved for commercial use by the Houston Planning Commission in August, and construction began in early 2019. The new location is near several master-planned communities, including Cypress Creek Lakes, Blackhorse Ranch, Towne Lake, Fairfield and Bridgeland. The membership warehouse club sells a wide variety of groceries and other merchandise in addition to offering specialty departments, which can include tire centers, food courts, optical services, pharmacies, business centers and photo centers, depending on the location. www.costco.com
