Locals Pat McGinty, Deborah Pijulski and Ray Pijulski are planning to open a new restaurant on a historic plot of land in Cypress. Cypress Trail Hideout will open at the end of February or beginning of March at 25610 Hempstead Road, Cypress, owner Pat McGinity said. The restaurant will feature a full-service bar, live music, outdoor games like cornhole, a 4,000-foot patio and food from Pappa Charlies Barbeque. McGinity said the atmosphere is meant to combine the experiences of barbecue, southwestern food and an icehouse. The restaurant is located near the original Hempstead Wagon Trail in a historic building that was built in the 1930s. 281-213-4136. www.cypresstrailhideout.com

Correction: An earlier version of this impact identified Pat McGinty as the creater of Floyd's Cajun Seafood. McGinty operates a Cypress area location of Floyd's Cajun Seafood as a licensed managing partner, but is not the creator of the franchise. Floyd's Cajun Seafood is not in any way affiliated with Cypress Trail Hideout.
