A second Cy-Fair area location of Sub Zero Ice Cream opens today at the Boardwalk at Towne Lake, 9945 Barker Cypress Road, Ste. 126, Cypress. The ice cream shop was initially scheduled to open in mid-September but faced setbacks due to construction.

The ice cream eatery, made famous by the TV show “Shark Tank,” provides customers with a unique way to get their ice cream fix.

Patrons first customize their order by choosing a yogurt and ice cream base, flavors and add-ins. Then, a Sub Zero server freezes the concoction in liquid nitrogen for 15 seconds, making the dessert creamier and denser, according to company officials.

“This is premium ice cream that is made to order with liquid nitrogen in seconds right before your eyes,” said Michael Vandiver, owner and operator of the Boardwalk location.

Flavors include classics like vanilla and chocolate as well as more distinctive options such as mint, marshmallow and blackberry.

The Boardwalk location will be the third Sub Zero in the Greater Houston area. Other locations can be found at 10123 Louetta Road, Ste. B400, Houston, and 15810 Southwest Freeway, Ste. 300, Sugar Land.
