Shake Shack is moving forward with a restaurant in Southlake Town Square after City Council in March denied a proposed site plan.

Officials for Shake Shack said the 3,166-square-foot restaurant is slated to open late this year at 125 Central Ave. and will feature a 770-square-foot covered patio and an art installation from a local artist.

Officials said the eco-friendly building will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials, including booths made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and table tops made from bowling alley lanes.

The Shake Shack menu will include burgers, crinkle-cut fries and handspun shakes as well as frozen custard.
