Houston-based Texas Children’s Hospital will open a new facility in North Austin.

The hospital system is planning to open a 51,000-square-foot facility at 8611 N. MoPac, Austin, in early 2019. The facility will house specialized clinics and administrative offices. It will occupy the second and third floors of the building—which is still under construction—and serve as the anchor tenant of the building, according to Max Appling from The Kucera Companies, the commercial brokerage and leasing company responsible for the leasing the building.

Texas Children’s Hospital currently has hospital, clinic and urgent care locations throughout Houston and the surrounding area including Katy and The Woodlands. This will be the second Austin-area location for the hospital group, following the opening of a pediatric urgent care clinic in Austin in Spring 2018.

Bank of Austin will occupy 12,000 square feet on the first floor of the four-story, 100,000-square-foot building, with the remaining space yet to be leased.
