Parents will have another entertainment and party option for their children in December. The COOP-Austin will open in mid-December at 11101 Burnet Road, Ste. 190, Austin. The party and play space will offer drop-in play hours during the week and host private parties on the weekends. The space will have a large ball pit, dance floor, bounce house, an 8-foot disco chandelier, playhouse with reading nook and magnetic wall, and an outdoor patio with an espresso bar. Franchise owner Tatiana Penney said she first heard about COOP while watching the TV show “Shark Tank” in which business owners pitch their concept or product in hopes that one of the investors, or sharks, will want to invest in the company. “It is a super cool space that really honestly doesn’t exist in Austin,” Penney said. Drop in hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Thu. and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Fri. The cost will be a flat rate of $10 per child for the day, Penney said. For parties, several packages will be available. Parents can choose a basic package that includes only rental of the space or more elaborate packages in which Penney will plan the party with decorations, food and cake. “It’s an open canvas and we’ll allow you to bring in any decor, vendors and drinks you want with no restrictions,” Penney said. The COOP also will have a boutique wall and sell modern party supplies and accessories for children. For more information visit www.thecoop-austin.com or www.facebook.com/thecoopaustin.
