Sprinkles Cupcakes is most known for starting the cupcake bakery craze. Its other treats include cookies and ice creams.

On Feb. 4, the first Austin location of Sprinkles Cupcakes opens in Domain Northside at 3210 Palm Way, Ste. 100, Austin. The location will serve fresh-baked cupcakes daily as well as slow-churned ice cream and cookies.

Sprinkles will also have a 24/7 Cupcake ATM that holds 800 cupcakes, and leftover cupcakes will be donated to a local food bank. Cupcake flavors available at the Domain Northside location will include banana, chai latte, dark chocolate, strawberry and red velvet. www.sprinkles.com

A $6.7 million budget amendment was approved by consent at the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 21. The budget amendment was requested to cover planned expenses for Career and Technical Education projects, instructional professional development, equipment, substitute teachers and the increase of insurance premium costs.
