On July 14, the Tri-County Disc Golf Club and the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department celebrated enhancements at the city’s nine-hole disc golf practice course at Prince Solms Park, located at 100 Liebscher Drive, New Braunfels.

The Tri-County Disc Golf Club recently paid to have the tee pads at the park poured with concrete, providing increased safety and playability.

Disc golf is one of the fastest-growing recreational sports in the country, according to Mike Meyer, president of the Tri-County Disc Golf Club and New Braunfels Parks Foundation committee member.

“We are currently working with the city to install a full 18-hole professional-grade disc golf course in New Braunfels,” Meyer said in a statement. “Our club’s goal is to help provide the city with off-season revenue by helping grow the sport in this area.”

In addition, the Tri-County Disc Golf Club will make a donation at the cancer benefit for Haley Drew Beatty on July 28, which will take place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Watering Hole Saloon and Dancehall, 1390 McQueeney Road, New Braunfels.
