Georgetown ISD announced Tuesday that Courtney Acosta has been named the executive director for campus operations and school leadership.
Acosta has served as principal at Round Rock ISD's McNeil High School in Austin for the last four years. Prior to that she served as associate principal at McNeil High School and assistant principal at both Round Rock and McNeil high schools. She began her career as a science teacher and served as an instructional coach at Goose Creek and Clear Creek ISDs.
“[Acosta] brings tremendous leadership experience to the district,” said Bryan Hallmark, assistant superintendent for operations and school leadership. “As principal in a large and growing district, she led her campus through extensive construction projects and will be a great resource for campus principals in all aspects of school leadership. We are thrilled that she is joining the GISD team.”
Acosta holds a master's degree in educational administration from Lamar University and a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences from Texas A&M.
As executive director, Acosta will supervise school safety processes and assist principals with navigating challenging campus situations. She will assume her new role with GISD on July 2.
