The second phase of a $37 million expansion to Southwestern University’s Fondren-Jones Science Center, 101 E. University Ave., Georgetown, broke ground in early February. When complete in fall 2019, the center will have 20,000 square feet of new space along with renovations to an additional 38,000 square feet of existing space. The expansion includes the addition of the Whitmore Mathematics and Computer Science Laboratory, the Kinesiology Human Performance Laboratory, a premedical education center and a plant-growing facility. 512-863-6511. www.southwestern.edu
