In December nonprofit organization The Caring Place moved its programs and services department, formerly known as the client services department, to a new location at 2001 Railroad Ave., Georgetown. The department offers assistance to community members in the Georgetown area seeking help with rent, utilities, transportation and food needs. The Caring Place also operates a food pantry at 2000 Railroad Ave., Georgetown. The programs and services department is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., and the food pantry is open weekdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Both offices remain open Thursdays until 6 p.m. 512-943-0700.
