Helping Hands of Georgetown is launching a mobile food pantry in mid-November. The pantry will be stocked with nonperishable grocery items reported as most needed by the organization's target market residents, founder Bob Weimer said.

To start, the vehicle will visit three Southeast Georgetown underserved, working communities once a week, Weimer said, adding the pantry will also have some seasonal clothing to distribute if needed.

"We expect 10 to 12 families will be served in the beginning," he said. "Flyers will be distributed by the neighborhood volunteers that will explain the day, time and location the pantry will be in each neighborhood. The Southeast Georgetown communities have been identified by the Georgetown Health Foundation."
