Incumbent Ellen Troxclair, R-Lakeway, is running for her third term against Democratic opponent Tom Luck.
Texas House District 19 covers all of Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie and Kendall counties. The district also includes parts of Travis County, including Cedar Park, Leander and Bee Cave, along with other cities in Travis County.

The last day to register to vote for the November 2026 elections is Oct. 5. Early voting will begin later that month on Oct. 19. More information about voting is available on the Texas Secretary of State's website.

What would your top priorities be if elected?
Delivering lasting property tax relief, keeping Texas affordable, protecting our water resources, investing in education, and ensuring Texas’ growth is thoughtful and responsible remain top priorities—always viewed through the lens of defending our constitutional rights of life and liberty.
What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
Rapid growth is putting pressure on water, affordability, and private property. We must meet the needs of a growing state while protecting the Hill Country from incompatible industrial development and preserving the quality of life that makes Texas a great place to raise a family.
What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?
The Legislature must continue fundamentally reforming property taxes, with the goal of eliminating school property taxes for homeowners, while continuing to invest in an excellent education for every Texas child.

My top priorities:<br><br>1. Get dark money out of politics and have term limits. <br><br>2. End School Vouchers and fully fund public schools.<br><br>3. Have affordable and accessible health care.<br><br>4. End White Christian Nationalist indoctrination.<br><br>5. Pass laws to regulate water and data centers so they work for Texans.**

What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?
Regulate data centers:<br>Texas labor.<br>End tax break costing taxpayers millions.<br>Pay for water and don’t take from citizens water supply.<br><br>Education:<br>End religious education in public school. It belongs in religious institutions and families.<br>Make Texas public schools best in the country because that is what Texas children deserve.
