Liberty Hill Fire Department holds groundbreaking ceremony for Station No. 3

Increasing call volumes along with the city’s growing population prompted the need for another fire station, Lincoln said. He said call volumes increase by 8%-12% every year.

Fire Station No. 2 broke ground roughly six years ago, but due to Liberty Hill’s fast-growing population, Lincoln said the next station after No. 3—Fire Station No. 4—could break ground within the next two years.

A closer look

Fire Station No. 3 will be located within the Clearwater Ranch neighborhood at 920 Umbrella Sky, Liberty Hill.

Once the station opens, 15 additional firefighters will be brought onboard. Lincoln said the department is in the process of hiring the new firefighters now.

Costing $6 million, construction on Fire Station No. 3 will last for roughly a year.

Looking ahead

Lincoln said the fire department has already purchased two more sites for future stations. One site is on CR 266, and the other is on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Further, Lincoln said the department is looking to buy another site in the Lariat subdivision on CR 214.
