Parking at Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park to be limited on Memorial Day weekend

Drivers looking to park at Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park for Memorial Day activities will see fewer spots available than normal from May 24-26, according to a news release from Austin Parks and Recreation.

In order to address safety concerns, and to ensure park access for emergency and staff vehicles, parking will be limited to specific spaces in the park, located at 614 N. Commons Ford Road, according to the news release. Park rangers will be on duty providing directions for drivers.

No parking will be allowed outside the park’s front entrance, and vehicles violating this rule will be towed, according to the statement.

Officials with Austin Parks and Recreation advise visitors to carpool to the park, and to keep in mind that once capacity is reached at the park, no additional vehicles will be allowed to enter.

Officials also advised visitors to adhere to Leave No Trace principles, which entail planning ahead and preparing, disposing of waste properly, leaving any objects found in the park inside the park and respecting wildlife as well as other visitors.
