Texas' 10th Congressional District covers the northwestern portion of the greater Houston area, northern Austin, northern suburbs including Pflugerville and west Austin suburbs such as Lakeway and Bee Cave.
The district has been represented by Michael McCaul since 2005, but McCaul is not seeking reelection after his current term.
Community Impact reached out to the candidates running in the general election for U.S. House District 10. Candidates were asked to keep responses under 50 words, answer the questions provided and avoid attacking opponents.

Why are you running for this position?
I'm running because the American Dream I lived is closing for the next generation. I'm not here to manage that decline — I'm here to reverse it, fighting Washington's red tape and restoring opportunity and prosperity by unleashing TX-10's entrepreneurs, farmers, energy producers, and researchers to build the future America needs.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My priorities are making life affordable for everyday Texans, fixing a system rigged for insiders, and unleashing TX-10's economy. I'll cut costly regulations, expand opportunity for small businesses, and support agriculture, energy, and advanced technology — all while securing our border and defending the freedom and opportunity that built Texas.
What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
TX-10's fastest-growing communities are straining outdated water and power infrastructure, while rising living costs and Washington policies hold back growth. This district's diverse economy — agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and technology — deserves leaders who understand how these challenges connect. I'll strengthen infrastructure, improve affordability, and unleash every sector to thrive.
What projects are most important for Congress to focus on for the future of Texas?
Congress should expand water and grid capacity, streamline permitting, keep taxes low, and reform federal procurement to support defense technology. It must also rebuild domestic supply chains in TX-10, reducing our dependence on adversaries like China. This district can lead in agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and technology if Washington gets out of the way.
What is needed to balance growth and affordability in Texas?
The significant growth we're experiencing demands transparency, local control, and responsible development. Companies must respect our communities and protect land, water, and energy resources. Congress should partner with Texas leaders to strengthen infrastructure, remove housing barriers, curb inflation, and ensure hardworking families — not insiders — directly benefit from innovation and growth.

Why are you running for this position?
I’m running because I believe Congress can do better and public service should be about serving people, not politics. I want to bring servant leadership to Washington: listen, find practical solutions, work across differences, and leave our kids a country better than we found it.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
Building an economy where hard work gets you ahead. Strong public schools. Keeping America safe without endless, costly wars. Reducing corruption and dark money in politics. Expanding access to affordable health care. And restoring accountability to a Congress that seems to create more problems than solutions.
What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
Making sure growth doesn’t leave people behind. TX-10 is growing quickly, but families still need to be able to afford to live here. Our infrastructure must keep pace, special interests can’t be allowed to steamroll communities, and everyone should have a chance to benefit from the opportunities growth creates.
What projects are most important for Congress to focus on for the future of Texas?
Building for the future means investing in public education, reliable energy, and an economy that improves lives. It also means responsible leadership abroad: securing our border, fixing our broken immigration system, and ensuring any use of military force has a clear strategy for success.
What is needed to balance growth and affordability in Texas?
Growth is only a success if Texans can afford to be part of it. I’ll be pro-growth and pro-community, welcoming investment, protecting the public interest, and ensuring the people who live and work here - not just those writing the biggest checks - have a meaningful seat at the table.
