Why are you running for this position?
As your state representative, I have advocated for reproductive rights, supported survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking, invested taxpayer dollars in programs that directly benefit our community, and created job opportunities for Texans by increasing access to higher education. I am running for re-election to build upon this work.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
As a member of the Sunset Advisory Commission, I will work to improve state agencies that impact a Texan’s life from birth until death. Furthermore, I will prioritize increasing access to healthcare and ensuring Texans have the education and workforce opportunities necessary to compete in a modern economy.
What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
The state is not paying our fair share in public education and our public school districts are suffering as a result. Both Austin ISD and Eanes ISD have been forced to close schools, end enrichment programs, and make other budget cuts to address growing deficits.
What projects are most important for the district to focus on for the future?
Mitigating the effects of climate change must be a top priority for our community. By 2050, western Travis County will likely face an increased risk of wildfires and our state will navigate a severe water crisis. Addressing these issues will require robust planning and strategic coordination across government entities.
How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?
My door is always open to my constituents. During session, I invite folks to share their thoughts and provide feedback through my district inbox: [email protected]. I also provide regular updates on my social media channels, host town halls, and send email updates.
