Why are you running for this position?

I want to take LTISD to the next level by focusing on the future for our students, rewarding great teachers, partnering with parents, driving excellence in the classroom, ensuring financial stability, and building community trust through transparency and open communication.

What is the biggest challenge facing the district and how would you address it?

A major concern is the district’s ability to navigate potential uncertainties around growth. I am committed to ensuring we have a strategic plan that makes the best use of all resources to support our teachers, improve student outcomes, and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high standards.

What is something you want Lake Travis ISD residents to know about you?

I love solving challenging problems through collaboration. My background in technology and business equips me to bring innovative solutions to our district's complex challenges. I am committed to working with teachers, parents, and the community to create a stronger LTISD for all students.

What changes would you like to see addressed at the state level regarding public education?

The current state funding for public schools needs to be addressed. Investing in our children’s education is imperative. School funding should be more predictable and aligned with delivering the highest quality educational experience possible, ensuring that all districts have the resources they need to succeed.

Why are you running for this position?

There are far too few experienced educators serving as Trustees on our Board. I’m running because I can provide the necessary insight and understanding the board needs when considering the issues facing our school district, and I’m not afraid to be a strong voice for our kids and educators.

What is the biggest challenge facing the district and how would you address it?

Funding and budget: The district will have to simultaneously get creative with making strategic cuts that don’t harm students or teachers, while advocating at a state level for more funding. Transparency and accountability are needed to prioritize funding for programs that best enhance student academic outcomes.

What is something you want Lake Travis ISD residents to know about you?

With an Applied Learning and Development degree from UT, 16+ year career in education, a current teaching certification, involvement in my school-aged children’s schools, and service on the Lake Travis ISD SHAC, I am the experienced, qualified choice for Trustee, Place 5.

What changes would you like to see addressed at the state level regarding public education?

Texas’s per-student funding hasn’t increased since 2019, keeping our state among the lowest nationwide. Vouchers threaten our budget further. I’ve long advocated for better funding and competitive teacher pay because ALL Texas kids deserve a free, safe, and equitable education.
