Lake Travis-based real estate company organizes local food drive

In an effort to provide COVID-19 relief, Mastermind Realtors of Lake Travis have organized food drive events benefiting three local nonprofit organizations.

The company, which formed 12 years ago, is a collaboration between 11 Realtors from the Austin and Lake Travis area.

Nonperishables and cash donations will aid LT Senior Services, Lake Travis Crisis Ministries and Helping Hand Crisis Ministry of Spicewood in the distribution of resources to residents in need. All three organizations have been working to support those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Along with unopened food items, the most requested items include toilet paper, paper towels, masks, cotton fabric, elastic and cleaning supplies, such as Clorox. The items can be donated at several locations throughout the Lake Travis Area from 9-11 a.m.

J5 Steakhouse accepted donations April 21 at 21814 Hwy. 71, Spicewood.

Highland Village in the Rough Hollow neighborhood will be holding a food drive April 22 at 901 Highlands Blvd., Lakeway.

The Library Center at 107 S. RM 620, Lakeway, will be hosting the event April 23.

The Keller Williams office will be accepting donations April 24 at 1921 Lohmans Crossing Road, Austin.

A GoFundMe campaign has also been established for donations to be split among the three nonprofits. Cash donations will be utilized to purchase food and supplies for residents. As of April 21, that campaign has raised $1,200 towards a $5,000 goal.
