GALLERY: Communities from Lake Travis to Westlake continue to shelter in place

Normally, April in the Lake Travis-Westlake area would bring about a number of festivities: Bee Cave’s mighty kite flight, Concordia University’s nature fest, Lakeway’s annual sing along and the anticipated Lake Travis Springfest—all of which have been either canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Travis County and the city of Austin issued a shelter-in-place order March 24, dictating individuals should remain in their places of residence except to conduct essential activities.

On the morning of April 7, Gov. Greg Abbott announced that all state parks and historical sites will temporarily close.

Lake Travis ISD and Eanes ISD are continuing districtwide closures as students engage in a new remote learning platform.

As residents continue to shelter in place and businesses temporarily close their doors, Lake Travis-Westlake residents are practicing social distancing and adjusting to the new normal. Here is a photo gallery depicting a snapshot of what the area looks like during the coronavirus outbreak.
