Humble ISD officials are hosting a series of open houses for incoming kindergarteners to assist parents with the registration process and what to expect in the coming school year.

HISD officials noted children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to qualify for kindergarten. Kindergarten registration opens April 7, with the first day of school for the 2025-26 school year following on Aug. 13.
According to a March 5 news release, the open houses will be held at the following times and elementary schools:
- Oaks, 5:30-6:30 p.m., 5858 Upper Lake Drive, Humble
April 24
- Bear Branch, 5:30-6:30 p.m., 3500 Garden Lake Drive, Kingwood
- Foster (held at Hidden Hollow), 6-7 p.m., 4104 Appalachian Trail, Kingwood
- Greentree, 5-6 p.m., 3502 Brook Shadow Drive, Kingwood
- Woodland Hills, 5:30-6:30 p.m., 2222 Tree Lane, Kingwood
- Whispering Pines, 5:30-6:30 p.m., 17321 Woodland Hills Drive, Humble
April 29
- Centennial, 5-6 p.m., 15130 Timber Forest Drive, Houston
- Lakeshore, 5-6 p.m., 13333 Breakwater Path, Houston
