Upcoming projects
1. North Oak Street updates
Project: Roadwork on North Oak Street will be from Byron Nelson Boulevard to Dorman Street and include a 31-foot curbed roadway, installation of new storm drain infrastructure and cross culverts to replace the existing open ditches, replacement of water and sewer lines and the addition and replacement of sidewalks.
Update: The project is in the design phase and will take at least six months to complete. The design work started in April.

Ongoing projects
2. Intermodal Parkway project
Project: Intermodal Parkway will be transformed into a four-lane road with sidewalks, street lighting, storm drainage and traffic signals between Old Blue Mound Road and the BNSF train yard entrance.
Update: The street paving is nearing completion and the switch to the new pavement began in May, according to the city website.

3. Keller Hicks Road improvements
Project: The project involves installing a three-lane undivided concrete pavement section from Park Vista Boulevard to Lauren Way and adding streetlights, sidewalks and stormwater drainage improvements.
Update: The contractor is currently restoring the pavement and sidewalk along Keller Hicks Road up to Katy Road, according to Fort Worth’s Transportation and Public Works department website. Grading and paving started in May and will finish at the end of 2026. There is adjusted lane usage. The Keller City Council voted to table a supplemental agreement between the city and Union Pacific Railroad Company for an amount not to exceed $104,000 to repair the crown of the roadway. The additional work was needed to adjust the height of the railroad crossing arms, according to previous reporting.

4. Elm Street reconstruction
Project: The project involves widening and reconstructing the road, improving utilities and drainage, adding parking, sidewalks, seating, landscaping, lighting and wayfinding signage.
Update: On May 18, work started on the sewer installation between Keller Parkway and Taylor Street. The work led to detours along Taylor Street and US 377.

5. Concrete repairs in Fort Worth
Project: Various roads within council Districts 2, 4 and 10 were awarded to Dallas-based Vernara LLC at the March 31 meeting. Work in District 4 will be on Western Center Boulevard and Bandshell Drive. In District 10, work is planned for Drexmore Road, Lacey Lane, Bolen Street, Barksdale Drive, Bamberg Lane, Stedman Trail West, Meribee Drive, Brewster Lane, Duncan Way and Chloe Lane.
Update: Work on two streets in District 4 and 10 streets in District 10 started in May.

Completed projects
6. Championship Parkway at SH 114 in Fort Worth
Project: The work includes adding dual left-turn lanes going northbound and southbound on Championship Parkway, constructing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks and ramps, and reconfiguring the existing travel lane on Championship Parkway.
Update: Construction ended April 24. Before the opening, the intersection, near Texas Motor Speedway and Tanger Outlets Fort Worth, had flashing yellow lights ahead of the switch.

7. Mt. Gilead Road Trail expansion
Project: A hike and bike trail will be added to the current trail along Mt. Gilead Road from Woodborough Lane to Roanoke Road. The 10-foot-wide trail will extend 1,350 feet to the east and 500 feet to the south of the established trail.
Update: The project concluded earlier than the project's expected finish date of May. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held April 6, according to the city's Facebook page.
