The city of Fort Worth and the Tarrant County public transportation service Trinity Metro continue to partner to improve public infrastructure for area residents.
In the latest development, Trinity Metro has been awarded $600,000 from the Federal Transit Authority to help improve public transportation. The grant will supplement a joint project with the city of Fort Worth to develop high-capacity transit along East Lancaster Avenue, according to a city news release.
“We are excited about this opportunity to work with the city on another important transit initiative,” Trinity Metro CEO Bob Baulsir said in the release. “We appreciate the Federal Transit Authority’s funding for this project.”
Dating back to a 2019 city of Fort Worth transit study, the East Lancaster project will help meet the city’s goal of “increasing transit’s role in the overall transportation system,” the release said.
