Upcoming projects
East Hudgins Street utility work
Project: Work crews will install 1,500 feet of 8-inch water main and 1,500 feet of 8-inch sewer main along the roadway between South Dooley Street and South Main Street. Following completion of the installation, crews will reconstruct Hudgins.
Update: Grapevine City Council approved a contract worth up to $660,000 with Fort Worth-based RUTS Construction during the July 21 meeting.
Burney Lane/Midway Road rehabilitation
Project: Construction will include milling the surface and stabilizing the road’s subgrade. Once those repairs are completed, crews will add a fresh layer of asphalt.
Update: Grapevine council members approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County to help complete the work July 7. Southlake is also expected to contribute $60,000 toward the project.
Ongoing projects
West Continental Boulevard intersection improvements
Project: Construction is ongoing for the second of four phases for improvements along West Continental Boulevard in Southlake. Improvements included within the second phase are expected to improve the traffic flow within the area.
Update: Crews shifted traffic near the intersection of Continental Boulevard and Davis Boulevard on July 20, according to a city update. The contractor has started work on the north side of Continental Boulevard, and traffic has been moved to the newly paved south portion of the roadway.
East SH 114 utility work
Project: A contractor is conducting underground utility work to install fiber optic cable and conduit along East SH 114 between Kirkwood Boulevard and T.W. King Road.
Update: The contractor began working on the project in late July after the initial start date was delayed, according to a city update. As part of the work, various lane closures will take place in the right westbound lane.
South White Chapel Boulevard road improvements
Project: A city contractor milled the existing asphalt surface along South White Chapel Boulevard between Southlake Boulevard and West Continental Boulevard. A fresh layer of asphalt was applied to the road after the milling was completed, according to the city’s Public Works Department.
Update: Final striping of the roadway is expected to be completed July 31, weather permitting.
