AllianceTexas—the sprawling master-planned mixed-use development that extends beyond Northeast Fort Worth—will welcome Schluter-Systems as the North American company expands its footprint to the Lone Star state.
Schluter-Systems is a tile and stone company with three major facilities in New York, Canada and Nevada. It announced Oct. 7 it will soon open a fourth facility at the intersection of I-35W and SH 114 and bring with it hundreds of new jobs.
“Schluter is another leading global company that has selected AllianceTexas as the location of their first operation in Texas. ... In addition, this facility will create over 300 new jobs for the region,” Tony Creme, senior vice president of Hillwood, developer of AllianceTexas, said in an email.
Aside from bringing employment opportunities, Schluter-Systems will use the facility to train installers on how to properly place company products, which will bring people from across the country, Creme said. This means more business for local hotels, restaurants and retailers.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2020, according to an Oct. 7 Hillwood news release.
“As we expand to meet the demands of our customers, AllianceTexas is the ideal location for our new Texas facility,” Schluter-Systems CEO Marco Ludwig said in the news release. “The Hillwood team had space immediately available at AllianceTexas to meet our current operational needs, with the capability to provide additional support and resources for future growth opportunities. With direct access to established transportation and logistics options and a robust workforce, AllianceTexas provides us with everything we need to succeed.”
